Anthea Balham Interfaith Minister

Rev Anthea Ballam, Interfaith Minister & Priest

The Rev Anthea Ballam is an interfaith minister and priest based in Brighton, East Sussex.

Originally working as a journalist, press officer and company director, Anthea’s life changed when she was ordained as an interfaith minister in 2007. Since then she has worked as a committed interfaith minister, carrying out ceremonies - funerals, weddings and baby blessings, and also teaching prayer, meditation and visualisation to a wide variety of groups including cancer support groups.

She has a passionate interest in the use of visualisation to help people with serious diseases, and runs guided meditation sessions for health and wellbeing. Her interest in guided meditation for healing led her to become a qualified hypnotherapist, and she now sees clients on a regular basis.

Anthea has written over 100 funeral readings which are now used throughout the world via her website - www.funeralstoday.org

She runs workshops on the following topics, all of which are subjects of ongoing research for her:

  • Prayer and Intention
  • Reincarnation
  • Meditation and Visualisation
  • Guided Meditation for Health

Anthea is the Secretary of The Brighton and Hove Interfaith Contact Group. She is also a committed environmentalist and has stood as a Green Party candidate at two General Elections and continues to support green initiatives locally and nationally.
